Introduction:

Korean BBQ chicken, also known as “dak galbi,” is a popular dish known for its delicious blend of flavors and tender texture. If you have been craving an authentic Korean BBQ chicken experience, look no further! This recipe will guide you through the process of recreating it in your very own kitchen.

Ingredients:

– 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, diced into bite-size pieces

– 1/4 cup soy sauce

– 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar

– 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)

– 2 tbsp rice vinegar

– 1 tbsp minced garlic

– 1 tbsp grated ginger

– 1 tbsp sesame oil

– 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for grilling)

– 1 small onion, thinly sliced

– 3 green onions, chopped

– Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, gochujang, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.

2. Add the diced chicken to the marinade mixture and mix well, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight for best results.

3. When you’re ready to cook, preheat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and ensure the entire cooking surface is covered.

4. Take marinated chicken out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature while your pan is heating up.

5. Add the marinated chicken pieces along with their marinade to the hot skillet or grill pan in a single layer. Cook for about five minutes on each side or until chicken is cooked through and golden brown on all sides. Reduce the heat as needed to prevent burning.

6. In the last couple of minutes of cooking, add the thinly sliced onions and cook until they become slightly softened and charred.

7. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.

8. Serve your delicious Korean BBQ chicken with steamed white rice, kimchi, or any other Korean side dishes you love.

Conclusion:

Now that you know how to make Korean BBQ chicken at home, you can bring the authentic taste of Korea to your dining table. This recipe is also great for sharing with friends and family during a backyard cookout or at any gathering around a tabletop grill. Enjoy!
