iPhone X vs. iPhone 8: Which iPhone is best?

In recent years, Apple has released numerous iPhone models, each with their own set of features and improvements. Among these models, two particularly stand out – the iPhone X and the iPhone 8. Both phones have their own unique highlights and shortcomings, so comparing them will help potential buyers to make a sound decision. In this article, we will analyze various aspects of the iPhone X and the iPhone 8 to determine which one is the best.

Design

Starting with the design, you’ll immediately notice how different these two devices are. The iPhone X features a bezel-less OLED screen with a small notch at the top for the Face ID sensor, which allows for added security. This design gives users an expansive screen-to-body ratio for better visuals and more immersive experiences.

On the other hand, the iPhone 8 retains its traditional design with bezels on the top and bottom of its LCD screen. Although it might seem outdated compared to the iPhone X, many die-hard Apple fans appreciate this classic design due to familiarity and nostalgia.

Performance

Both phones feature Apple’s powerful A11 Bionic chipset, providing excellent performance when running apps and games. However, it is essential to note that since their release dates (2017), new iPhones with even more powerful chips have been introduced.

Camera

The camera quality is another critical aspect of any smartphone purchase decision. The iPhone X comes equipped with a dual-lens camera setup, boasting a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens, along with optical image stabilization. This enables more beautiful portrait shots with advanced bokeh effects

The iPhone 8 offers a single-lens 12MP camera which still produces impressive photos but lacks certain features available on the iPhone X’s dual-lens setup. Nevertheless, both iPhones record 4K video at up to 60fps.

Battery Life

Although the iPhone 8 has a slightly smaller battery than the iPhone X (1821mAh vs. 2716mAh), real-world usage may not show significant differences in battery life between the devices. Factors such as screen brightness, connectivity settings, and usage patterns will influence the overall battery longevity.

Price

When considering any purchase, price inevitably comes into play. The iPhone 8 is more budget-friendly when compared to the iPhone X. The price difference may be important for those looking to save some money while still enjoying Apple’s unique user experience.

Conclusion

Both the iPhone X and iPhone 8 have their own advantages. If you prefer a modern design, better camera capabilities, and more advanced features like Face ID, then the iPhone X might be a good choice for you. However, if you prioritize familiarity, sufficient performance for everyday use, and a more affordable price tag, the iPhone 8 could be your ideal option. Ultimately, choosing between these two iPhones will depend on personal preferences, usage patterns, and budget constraints.
