Instructional designers design and deliver instruction, whereas online learning developers create and manage online learning platforms.

Both instructional designers and online learning developers have important roles in developing and delivering effective learning experiences. Instructional designers design and deliver instruction, whereas online learning developers create and manage online learning platforms. Both professions have their own unique skills and abilities that can help develop and deliver successful learning experiences.

One key difference between instructional designers and online learning developers is that instructional designers work with people in physical classrooms, while online learning developers work with people who are online. This difference can impact the design of the learning experience. For example, instructional designers might design learning materials that are tailored for use in a classroom setting, while online learning developers might design learning materials that are adaptable to a variety of online platforms.

In addition, instructional designers typically have a degree in education, whereas online learning developers may have a degree in computer science, engineering, or another related field. This difference can impact the types of technologies and software with which they are familiar. For example, instructional designers may be familiar with software such as Microsoft Word, while online learning developers may be more familiar with software such as Adobe Photoshop.

Overall, both instructional designers and online learning developers play important roles in developing and delivering successful learning experiences. The key difference between the two professions is their approach to designing and delivering the learning experience. Both professions have their own unique skills and abilities that can help develop and deliver successful learning experiences.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
