Apple’s iCloud Keychain is a handy tool that works seamlessly across all your Apple devices – macOS, iPadOS, and iOS – to securely store your passwords, credit card information, and other sensitive data. However, there may be times when you need to access a password that you’ve saved in iCloud Keychain, but you can’t seem to remember it. Fortunately, viewing passwords saved in iCloud Keychain is pretty straightforward. Here’s how to do it on your devices.

How to View Passwords Saved in iCloud Keychain on macOS

If you’re using a Mac running macOS Catalina or later, you can access your iCloud Keychain passwords directly from the Safari browser. Here’s how:

Step 1: Open Safari on your Mac and click on Safari > Preferences from the menu bar.

Step 2: Click on the “Passwords” tab and enter your Mac login password if prompted.

Step 3: You’ll see a list of all the websites that have saved passwords in iCloud Keychain. Select the website whose password you want to view and click on the “Show Passwords” button.

Step 4: Enter your Mac login password again when prompted to reveal the password.

Note that you may need to verify your identity using Touch ID or Face ID if your Mac supports these features.

How to View Passwords Saved in iCloud Keychain on iPadOS

If you’re using an iPad running iPadOS 14 or later, you can access your iCloud Keychain passwords from the Settings app. Here’s how:

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPad and tap on “Passwords.”

Step 2: You’ll be asked to authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPad passcode.

Step 3: You’ll see a list of all the websites that have saved passwords in iCloud Keychain. Select the website whose password you want to view.

Step 4: Tap on the password field to reveal the password.

How to View Passwords Saved in iCloud Keychain on iOS

If you’re using an iPhone running iOS 14 or later, you can access your iCloud Keychain passwords from the Settings app. Here’s how:

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap on “Passwords.”

Step 2: You’ll be asked to authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or your iPhone passcode.

Step 3: You’ll see a list of all the websites that have saved passwords in iCloud Keychain. Select the website whose password you want to view.

Step 4: Tap on the password field to reveal the password.

Final Thoughts

iCloud Keychain makes it easy to manage your passwords across all your Apple devices. However, it’s not just about convenience – it’s also about security. Remember that passwords are sensitive information, so it’s important to keep them safe and use strong, unique passwords for each account. With iCloud Keychain, you can do just that – and easily view them whenever you need to.
