How to Use Zoom App on Apple TV 4K

Using the Zoom App on Apple TV 4K can enhance your video conferencing experience by leveraging the larger screen and potentially better sound system attached to your Apple TV. However, as of my knowledge cutoff in early 2023, Zoom does not have an official application for Apple TV. Nevertheless, you can still use Zoom on your Apple TV by screen mirroring from an iOS device or using AirPlay. Here’s a step-by-step article on how to do it:
1. Ensure that your Apple TV and iOS device (iPhone or iPad) are updated to the latest software and that both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
2. Open the Zoom meeting on your iOS device using the Zoom app, which you can download from the App Store if you haven’t already.
3. Swipe down from the upper right corner of your screen (on an iPhone X or later) or swipe up from the bottom edge of any other iOS device to open the Control Center.
4. Tap on “Screen Mirroring” and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.
5. If prompted, enter the AirPlay passcode that appears on your Apple TV screen into your iOS device.
6. Now your iOS device’s screen, along with the Zoom meeting, will be displayed on your TV.
7. To stop mirroring, go back to Control Center, tap on “Screen Mirroring,” and then tap “Stop Mirroring.”
Remember that while screen mirroring, everything from your iOS device’s display will be shown on the TV, including notifications – so you may want to enable Do Not Disturb mode to avoid distractions.
Using this method allows you to take advantage of the Apple TV’s display and speakers for a more seamless group viewing experience during Zoom calls, although user interaction will still take place through the iOS device used for mirroring.
