Are you in a hurry and need to fix a loose hem immediately? Instant hem tape is your go-to solution! It is an adhesive tape designed specifically for hems, making it incredibly useful for creating a temporary fix that will hold throughout the day. In this article, we’ll walk you through seven simple steps to use instant hem tape like a pro.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

For this quick fix, you’ll only need two items:

– Instant hem tape

– Scissors

Step 2: Select the Hem to Be Fixed

Choose the hem you want to fix, whether it’s on your pants, skirt, or dress. Ensure the fabric is clean and dry.

Step 3: Cut the Instant Hem Tape

Measure the length of the hem you want to adjust and cut a piece of instant hem tape according to it. If your hem is curved or irregular, cut smaller pieces of tape and place them close together along the curve.

Step 4: Prepare the Hem

Lay your garment flat on a table with the inside facing up. Fold up the fabric to create the desired hem, ensuring that it’s even all around.

Step 5: Apply the Instant Hem Tape

Peel off one side of the backing from the tape and stick it along the edge of your folded hem. Press firmly so that it adheres properly to the fabric. Next, carefully remove the other side of the backing from the tape.

Step 6: Attach the Hem

Carefully fold up your fabric, pressing it against the exposed adhesive tape. Make sure there are no wrinkles or creases in your newly-adjusted hem.

Step 7: Smooth Out Your Garment

Once your new hem is in place, run your hand over it to smooth out any remaining wrinkles. Allow it to sit for a few moments before handling or wearing your garment.

And there you have it! You’ve successfully used instant hem tape in seven easy steps. This temporary solution is perfect for last-minute fixes, but for a more long-term solution, consider sewing the hem or visiting a professional tailor. The instant hem tape should hold your fabric securely for the day, but it is not a permanent replacement for stitching.
