2. Create an Account:
Once installed, open the app and sign up for a new account if you don’t have one already. Fill in the necessary information like email, username, and password, then click on “Register.” You’ll receive an email with a verification link – click this link to complete your registration.
3. Log in to Discord:
Now that your account is verified, sign in by entering your email and password.
4. Join or Create a Server:
Upon successful login, you’ll be redirected to the home screen with all the servers you’re currently part of on the left side of the screen. Here, you can join new servers by clicking on the “+” icon at the bottom of this list and either create a new server or join an existing one using an invite link.
5. Navigating Your Servers:
Inside a server, you can see various text channels (identified with a hashtag symbol) and voice channels (displayed with a speaker icon). Each channel serves a different purpose based on its topic. Click on any channel to view or contribute messages.
6. Sending Messages:
To send a message in a text channel, type your message in the text box at the bottom of your screen marked “Message #channel-name.” Add emojis, gifs, or files by clicking the respective icons next to the text box. To tag another user, use the “@” symbol followed by their username.
7. Voice Channels:
To join a voice channel, click on its name. Once you’re connected, you can speak freely with others in the channel. Use the microphone icon to mute or unmute your voice and the headphones icon to mute all other users’ audio.
8. Direct Messaging:
You can send private messages to friends on Discord by clicking on their username in a channel or selecting “Friends” from the bottom toolbar. Here, you’ll find a list of your friends and can send direct messages by clicking on their names.
9. Modifying User Settings:
Personalize your Discord experience by adjusting settings like notifications, privacy, and more. Tap on the gear icon at the bottom right of your screen to access the settings menu.
