The Amazon Echo Show is no longer just a smart speaker, it now doubles as a security camera with the latest software update. This means you can now use your Echo Show as a security camera to monitor your home, office or any other location where you have installed it.

Here’s how to set up your Amazon Echo Show as a security camera and keep your home safe:

Step 1: Download the “Amazon Alexa” app

The first step in using your Amazon Echo Show as a security camera is to download the “Amazon Alexa” app on your smartphone. You can find this app on both the iOS and Android app stores. Once downloaded, log in using your Amazon credentials.

Step 2: Install the “Alexa Guard” feature

Alexa Guard is an Alexa feature that works with your Amazon Echo Show and helps keep your home safe. To install Alexa Guard, launch the Alexa app, navigate to “Settings” and select “Guard.” Enable the feature, and the app will start monitoring any sounds or movements detected, alerting you in case of any suspected breaches.

Step 3: Place your Amazon Echo Show strategically

Position your Amazon Echo Show in a strategic location, such as your home’s entryway, living room, or kitchen. Make sure the camera lens is facing the area you want to monitor. The Echo Show comes with a stand that allows it to rotate, so you can easily change the direction of the camera lens.

Step 4: Use voice commands to check on your Echo Show

Once you have placed your Amazon Echo Show in a strategic location, you can use voice commands to check the camera feed remotely. For example, say “Alexa, show me the living room,” and the Echo Show will display the live feed on your screen.

Step 5: Get alerts when threats are detected

In addition to the live feeds, you can set up alerts that will notify you whenever suspicious movements or sounds are detected. Your Echo Show will send these alerts to your smartphone, allowing you to take quick action to prevent intruders.

Conclusion

With the latest Alexa software update, the Amazon Echo Show can now double as a security camera, providing an affordable and convenient way to monitor your home or office. By following these simple steps, you can set up your Echo Show as a security camera and keep your property safe.
