AMD graphics drivers are essential components for every PC user that ensures smooth performance while running graphic-intensive applications and games. These drivers need to be updated regularly to keep your system up-to-date and running efficiently. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps of updating your AMD Graphics Drivers in Windows.

Step 1: Identify the Graphics Card Model

The first step is to identify the model of your AMD Graphics card. There are two ways to do so:

Option 1: Go to the Control Panel > Device Manager > Display Adapters. Here you’ll find your AMD graphics card name and model under the Display Adapters category.

Option 2: Right-click on the desktop, select AMD Radeon Settings. This will bring up the Radeon Settings window. Click on the System Tab, then select the Hardware option. You’ll see the graphics card model and other system information.

Step 2: Download the Latest AMD Graphics Driver

Once you have identified the graphics card, visit the AMD website and download the latest driver for your graphics card model. You can also use the AMD Driver Autodetect utility on the AMD website, which will quickly identify your card model and recommend the necessary driver.

Step 3: Uninstall Old Drivers

Before installing the new driver, it’s important to uninstall the previous driver first. To do this, go to the Control Panel > Programs and Features > AMD Catalyst Install Manager > Change or Uninstall. Follow the prompts to uninstall the driver and restart the computer.

Step 4: Install the New Driver

Now, open the downloaded driver file and follow the installation prompts. The installation process can take a few minutes to complete, so keep patience. Once the installation is complete, restart the computer once again.

Step 5: Check Driver Version

After restarting the computer, go to the device manager (step 1) and click on the Display Adapters category. Right-click on the AMD graphics card and select Properties. Click on the Driver Tab and check the driver version. Make sure it’s the latest version, which confirms the updated installation has been successful.

Conclusion:

Updating AMD Graphics Drivers in Windows is easy and crucial for a better user experience. Follow these steps to update the drivers, ensuring your system runs smoothly and efficiently. Make it a habit to check for driver updates and download them, especially when upgrading to new hardware or installing modern games. Happy Gaming!
