Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms, boasting around one billion monthly active users. It has become a go-to platform for sharing photos, videos, and updates, as well as connecting and following people from all around the world. With the app’s messaging feature, users can stay in touch with their friends, family, and followers easily. This article is written to help you unmute someone on Instagram after you’ve muted them.

Muting someone on Instagram means that you’ll no longer see their posts or stories on your feed. This is convenient when you want to silence a person temporarily without unfollowing them. However, sometimes, you might want to unmute them so that you can see their posts again. Here’s how you can do it.

  1. Launch the Instagram app and log in to your account.
  2. Navigate to the profile of the person you want to unmute. You can do this by either searching for their username or tapping on their picture on your Stories page.
  3. Click on the “Following” button, located under their name and profile picture.
  4. A menu will pop up. Look for the “Mute” option and tap on it.
  5. Another menu will appear, with a choice to mute either their posts, stories, or both. Select the option that you had previously selected to mute them, and then tap on it.
  6. If the person is muted, the switch beside their name will display as blue. Tap on it again, and it will turn gray, indicating that you have successfully unmuted them.
  7. Finally, click on the “Done” button at the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Once you’ve followed these easy steps, you’ll be able to see the person’s posts and Stories again. They will appear on your feed just like any other content. You can also choose to mute or unmute someone from their posts or Stories without having to go to their profile.

In Conclusion, Sometimes you might want to mute someone on Instagram, but once the reason for muting them is over, knowing how to unmute them becomes important. Using the above steps should help you easily unmute a person on Instagram. However, if you can’t find that person’s profile after following the above steps, it is possible that they may have blocked you.
