How to Uncover the Android 12 Easter Egg

With each major Android release, Google has been hiding an Easter egg and Android 12 isn’t any different. In Android 12, the Easter egg takes the form of a Material You-themed game. Here’s how to uncover the Android 12 Easter egg.

Step 1: Update to Android 12

First and foremost, you’ll need to be running Android 12 to unlock the Easter egg. At the time of writing, Android 12 is only available as a beta for select devices, including the Google Pixel series, so make sure your device is compatible.

Step 2: Tap the Android Version in Settings

Once you’ve updated to Android 12, head over to the settings app and scroll down to “About Phone”. Next, tap on “Android version”. Alternatively, you can try tapping on the “Android version” in the quick settings menu.

Step 3: Tap on the Android 12 Logo

Now, you’ll see a large Android 12 logo on the screen. Keep tapping on it continuously until you see a Material You-themed 3D puzzle block game appear on the screen. The game is a simple one and is reminiscent of classic block puzzle games like Tetris.

Step 4: Play the Game and Unlock the Easter Egg

The goal of the game is to arrange the blocks in such a way that they fill up the entire screen, without leaving any gaps. Once you complete the game, you’ll be greeted with a “Sweet” message and a Material You-themed dessert animation.
