Netflix is a great platform for watching movies and TV shows from various genres. The streaming service offers an option to turn on subtitles in different languages to cater to users from different parts of the world. However, for some viewers, subtitles can be an unnecessary distraction. In this article, we will guide you on how to turn off subtitles on Netflix.

Step 1: Open Netflix

The first step in turning off subtitles on Netflix is to open the app or website. If you are using a desktop or laptop, visit the Netflix website and sign in to your account. If you are using a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet, launch the Netflix app.

Step 2: Choose the title to watch

Once you are signed in to your account, navigate to the TV show or movie you want to watch. Click or tap on the title to start playing.

Step 3: Click or tap on the screen

While the content is playing, click or tap anywhere on the screen. This will bring up the playback controls.

Step 4: Access the subtitle options

On the playback controls menu, look for the “Audio & Subtitles” option. Depending on your device, this may be represented by a small icon or written text. Click or tap on this option.

Step 5: Turn off subtitles

On the “Audio & Subtitles” menu, turn off the subtitles by selecting “Off” on the list of available options. If you only want to turn off certain subtitle languages, select “Audio & Subtitles,” then choose the language you want to turn off and select “Off.”

Step 6: Play the content

After turning off the subtitles, click or tap on “Play” to resume playing the content. The subtitles should no longer be visible.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in.
