OneDrive is a cloud storage service that is built into Windows 11. It provides users with a convenient way to store and access files from anywhere. However, not everyone wants to use OneDrive, and some users may want to turn it off for various reasons, such as privacy concerns or to save space on their hard drive. In this article, we will show you how to turn off OneDrive in Windows 11.

Option 1: Disable OneDrive in Windows 11 through the Settings app

4. Scroll down the list and click on “Microsoft OneDrive.”

5. Click on the “Advanced options” link.

7. Restart your computer.

Option 2: Turn off OneDrive through the Registry Editor

2. Type “regedit” and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

3. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

4. Locate the OneDrive entry in the right pane and delete it.

5. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive

6. Right-click on the OneDrive key and choose “Delete.”

7. Restart your computer.

Option 3: Uninstall OneDrive in Windows 11

1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

2. Type “appwiz.cpl” and press Enter to open the Programs and Features window.

3. Scroll down the list of installed programs and find “Microsoft OneDrive.”

4. Right-click on “Microsoft OneDrive” and select “Uninstall.”

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

6. Restart your computer.

Conclusion

OneDrive is a useful tool for many Windows 11 users, but if you don’t want to use it, it’s easy to turn it off. Whether you disable OneDrive through the Settings app, the Registry Editor, or by uninstalling it, following these steps will help you disable OneDrive and remove it from your computer.
