How to Tie Necklace Slipknots: 13 Steps
Step 1: Gather your materials. You will need a necklace cord, a pendant or focal bead, scissors, and clear nail polish (optional).
Step 2: Cut the cord to your desired length, allowing an extra couple of inches for the knots.
Step 3: Fold the cord in half, making a loop at the folded end.
Step 4: Feed the loop through the hole in your pendant or focal bead.
Step 5: Take the two loose ends of the cord and thread them through the loop you created in step 3. Pull them tight so that your pendant or focal bead is secured in place.
Step 6: Hold the two remaining loose ends of the cord together, about 1 inch away from your pendant or bead.
Step 7: Create a loop with one end of the cord by folding it over itself about an inch away from where you’re holding both ends together.
Step 8: Take the other end of the cord and feed it through this new loop, going from front to back.
Step 9: Tightly pull on both ends of the cord to create a snug slipknot.
Step 10: Repeat steps 7-9 on the other side of your pendant or focal bead, ensuring that both knots are approximately the same distance from it.
Step 11: Trim any excess cord, leaving at least half an inch beyond each knot. You can use clear nail polish on the cut edges to prevent fraying if you desire.
Step 12: To adjust your necklace length, gently slide each knot along with its respective side of the cord until it’s at your preferred length.
Step 13: Enjoy wearing your newly created adjustable slipknot necklace!
