In today’s fast-paced world, being able to type faster on your phone can be a game-changer, saving valuable time and helping you communicate more efficiently. Improve your texting speed with these nine easy steps!

1. Get familiar with your keyboard: The first step to increasing your texting speed is getting comfortable with your phone’s keyboard layout. Spend some time memorizing where each key is located.

2. Use both hands: To maximize efficiency, try using both hands when typing. Hold the phone with one hand and type with the other for faster inputs.

3. Use autocorrect and predictive text: Many smartphone keyboards have built-in autocorrect and predictive text features that can help you save time by automatically correcting errors and suggesting words as you type.

4. Enable swiping gestures: Enabling swipe gestures, like Swype or SwiftKey, can make texting faster by allowing you to slide your finger across the screen from letter to letter without lifting it.

5. Learn keyboard shortcuts: Some mobile keyboards have hidden shortcuts that can help speed up your texting game, such as double-tapping the spacebar to insert a period and a space automatically.

6. Keep messages short and sweet: Longer messages take more time to type out, so try to keep your texts brief when possible. This practice not only saves time but also makes communication more efficient.

7. Use abbreviations and emojis: You can use abbreviations like ‘OMW’ for ‘on my way’ or ‘TTYL’ for ‘talk to you later’ to save keystrokes. Emojis can also convey a lot of information with just one small symbol, saving you time in typing out words.

8. Practice regularly: Like any other skill, practice makes perfect! Dedicate some time each day to practice texting at a faster pace deliberately.

9. Stay updated with the latest technologies: Regularly update your phone’s software and keyboard apps to take advantage of new features designed to help improve your typing speed.

With dedication and consistent effort, you can gradually improve your texting speed by following these steps. Before you know it, you’ll be a texting pro!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
