Axolotls are aquatic creatures found in Minecraft’s oceans and rivers. These lovable creatures are quite popular among players, as they can be used to fight off underwater enemies and even act as pets. However, taming an axolotl can be quite challenging, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. In this article, we’ll provide you with some tips on how to tame axolotls in Minecraft.

First of all, you need to know that axolotls are passive mobs. This means that they won’t attack you unless you provoke them first. Therefore, it’s essential to approach them cautiously and avoid making any sudden movements. If you’re aggressive towards an axolotl, it will try to flee or attack you, which is not what you want.

To tame an axolotl, you need to offer it a bucket of tropical fish. Axolotls are attracted to tropical fish, so if you hold out the bucket, the axolotl will swim towards it. However, you need to be careful about not spooking it by moving suddenly.

Once the axolotl has consumed the fish in the bucket, a heart animation will appear above its head, indicating that it’s now tamed. At this point, you can name your axolotl by naming it with a name tag. You can also breed tamed axolotls to create baby axolotls.

It’s essential to note that tamed axolotls can’t be controlled directly, and they will roam around on their own. However, they will follow the player when out of water, making them excellent companions for underwater exploration.

In addition to taming axolotls, you can also use them to defend yourself against hostile underwater mobs like guardians and drowned. Axolotls will attack these mobs on their own, making them valuable allies in underwater combat.

In conclusion, taming axolotls in Minecraft can be a rewarding experience, but it requires a bit of patience and understanding of the creatures. Remember to approach them cautiously, offer them tropical fish, and avoid making sudden movements. With a bit of effort, you’ll have yourself a new underwater friend that’s both adorable and useful.
