YouTube is the world’s largest video-sharing platform where you can find videos of various genres, including music, tutorials, gameplay, comedy, and more. Sometimes you want to share a video with someone, but you want them to start watching from a specific point in that video. Here’s how you can share a YouTube video at a specific start time.

Step 1: Go to your video

First, you will need to navigate to the video that you want to share. Open YouTube in your web browser and search for the video you want to share. Alternatively, you can get the video link from the creator or social media. Once you have found the video, click on it to open it.

Step 2: Choose the start time

After you have opened the video in your browser, fast forward or rewind the video to the exact time you want to share. You can use the slider at the bottom of the video player to move to the desired time. If you’re sharing a long video with a specific section, you may want to take notes of the time stamp.

Step 3: Copy the video URL

After selecting the start time, you will need to copy the video URL. To do so, click on the ‘Share’ button, located below the video player. Alternatively, you can copy the video URL from the address bar and paste it into a text document.

Step 4: Add the start time to the URL

To share the video with a start time, you need to add the start time to the URL. To do so, add the parameter “t=” at the end of the URL, followed by your chosen time (e.g., ?t=2m30s). This means that the video will start at 2 minutes and 30 seconds. If you want the video to start at a precise timestamp, you can add seconds and hours as well.

Step 5: Share the URL

Once you’ve added the start time to the URL, you can copy and share the link with anyone you want. You can do this by pasting the URL into emails, chat messages, social media posts or even create a QR code.

In conclusion, sharing a YouTube video at a specific start time is an effortless and convenient way to share videos accurately. With these simple steps, you can share your favorite moments in the video with others, saving time and trouble for the viewer. Remember, it is crucial to provide context when sharing videos to ensure that the video is watched for the right reasons.
