Setting up Gmail as your default email in Firefox is a quick and easy process. By doing so, any email links you click on in Firefox will take you directly to Gmail, making it the default email client for your browser.

Here’s how to go about it:

Step 1: Open Firefox

First of all, you need to open Firefox on your computer.

Step 2: Open Firefox settings

Click on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the screen. This will open a drop-down menu. From here, select ‘Options’.

Step 3: Choose ‘Applications’

From the left sidebar menu, choose ‘Applications’. This section allows you to manage file and content types that are opened by Firefox.

Step 4: Search for ‘mailto’

In the search bar located in the top right corner of the screen, type ‘mailto’.

Step 5: Change the action

Once you’ve found ‘mailto’, click on the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the screen. From here, select ‘Use Gmail’.

Step 6: Save changes

Finally, click on ‘OK’ to save your changes.

Congratulations! Your Gmail account is now set up as the default email client for Firefox. Whenever you click on an email link while using Firefox, it will open directly in your Gmail account.

Conclusion

Setting up Gmail as your default email in Firefox is a simple process that can be completed in just a few clicks. By doing so, you’ll be able to easily access your Gmail account directly from your browser without the need for any additional steps.

We hope this article has helped you set up Gmail as your default email client in Firefox. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech.
