As an Xbox Series X or S console owner, you may encounter a few glitches or issues with your device. Sometimes, everything seems to be going well, but the console fails to work properly. When this happens, resetting your Xbox Series X or S can fix the problem. Here’s a comprehensive guide on resetting your Xbox Series X or S console.

Why Reset Your Xbox Series X or S

Before resetting your Xbox Series X or S console, you need to understand why it’s necessary. There are several reasons why resetting your console is essential, and the most common ones include:

1. System Updates –

Sometimes, your console may require significant system updates that affect its settings or operations. Resetting your Xbox Series X or S can help install updates and ensure optimum performance.

2. Game Installation Error –

At times, your game installation may encounter errors that cause your console to crash or hang. Resetting the console can solve the issue and allow you to reinstall the game.

3. Troubleshooting Issues –

When troubleshooting issues with your Xbox Series X or S console, sometimes, you need to reset it to fix the issue. For instance, if your console is experiencing slow performance or not responding, resetting it can help solve the issue.

How to Reset Xbox Series X or S

Resetting your Xbox Series X or S console is not complicated if you follow these steps:

1. Press the Xbox Logo button on the controller to open the guide.

2. Scroll to the gear icon to access the settings menu

3. Click the Settings icon

4. Choose the System icon

5. Click Console Info & Updates

6. Choose Reset Console

7. You have two options, and they are:

a. Reset and Remove Everything –

This option wipes out your console and sets it back to its factory settings.

b. Keep My Games & Apps –

option resets your console but keeps your games and apps.

8. Select the option that suits you, and click Reset.

9. Confirm that you want to reset your console by clicking Yes.

10. Wait for the reset process to complete. This process may take a few minutes or longer, depending on your console’s load.

Once the reset is complete, your Xbox Series X or S console will restart automatically. You’ll then have to reinstall your games and set up your console to start using it.

In conclusion, resetting your Xbox Series X or S console can fix several issues with the device. If your games or apps stop working on your console or your system becomes unresponsive, you can use the above guide to reset it and return it to its optimal performance.
