How to Find Your Next Favorite Subreddit

Reddit is a vast community of online forums where you can find almost anything and everything under the sun. If you’re tired of scrolling aimlessly through the front page of Reddit and want to discover new subreddits to follow, here are some tips that can help you out.

  1. Think about your interests

One of the easiest ways to find subreddits that interest you is by thinking about what you like. Narrow down your hobbies, interests, or any specific topic that you like reading about and search for subreddits related to them. For example, if you enjoy playing video games, you can type in “gaming subreddits” and explore the different subreddits that pop up.

  1. Use the search function

Don’t be afraid to use the search function on Reddit. Simply type in a keyword related to your interests and see which subreddits come up. If you’re looking for something specific, you can use the advanced search option to filter your results and find the subreddit that resonates with you.

  1. Check out “Related Subreddits”

In every subreddit, you will find a list of “Related Subreddits” in the sidebar. These are subreddits that are similar to the one you are currently browsing and can be a great way to find other subreddits that may interest you.

  1. Use subreddit directories

There are several subreddit directories available online that categorize subreddits by topic. These directories can be a great resource to explore different subreddits that fall under a particular category.

  1. Check out the “Hot” and “Top” sections

The Hot and Top sections of subreddits can be very helpful when discovering new subreddits. In the Hot section, you can see the trending posts for that day, allowing you to get a feel for the subreddit’s content. In the Top section, you can check out the most popular posts of all time to get an idea of the subreddit’s best content.

  1. Ask for recommendations

If you’re struggling to find subreddits that interest you, don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations. You could post in relevant subreddits and ask other users for suggestions, or you could ask people you know in real life if they have any favorite subreddits they could recommend to you.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
