If you own multiple Kindle devices or share your Amazon account with family members, you may want to rename or remove old Kindle devices from your account. Renaming your devices can help you identify which one you’re using, while removing old devices can help you secure your account and free up space. Here’s how to rename and remove Kindle devices on your Amazon account.

Renaming Your Kindle Devices

1. Go to www.amazon.com and sign in to your account.

2. Click on the “Account & Lists” dropdown menu and select “Your Content and Devices.”

3. Click on the “Devices” tab to see a list of all your registered devices.

4. Find the device that you want to rename and click on the three dots on the right side of the screen. Select “Edit name” from the dropdown menu.

5. Enter the new name for your Kindle device and click on the “Save” button.

Removing Your Kindle Devices

1. Follow steps 1-3 above to go to the “Devices” tab.

2. Find the device that you want to remove and click on the three dots on the right side of the screen. Select “Deregister” from the dropdown menu.

3. A pop-up window will ask you to confirm that you want to deregister the device. Click on the “Deregister” button to confirm.

4. The device will no longer be associated with your Amazon account and will not be able to access your account content.

Additional Tips

– Renaming or removing a Kindle device will not delete any content from the device itself. You will need to manually delete the content from the device if you no longer want it.
– If you want to re-register a device that you’ve deregistered, simply follow the registration process again.
– If you have any trouble renaming or removing a Kindle device, contact Amazon Customer Support for assistance.

By following these simple steps, you can easily rename or remove old Kindle devices from your Amazon account. This can help you stay organized and secure, while also freeing up space for new devices.
