The Nintendo Switch is a versatile console that offers a great gaming experience with a wide range of games available for players to enjoy. However, sometimes players may delete games from their console accidentally or intentionally, or they may need to redownload games because of a console reset or a change of device. This article covers how to redownload games on the Nintendo Switch, including both purchased and free games.

Step 1: Check the Nintendo eShop

The first step to redownloading games on your Nintendo Switch is checking the Nintendo eShop. The eShop is where you can purchase, download, and manage your downloaded games. You can access the eShop by selecting the eShop icon on the home screen of your console.

Step 2: Choose the Game to be Redownloaded

Once in the eShop, navigate to your “Redownload” tab. You will then see a list of all the games you’ve ever purchased or downloaded on your Nintendo Switch—both free and paid games. You can search through this list and find the game you want to redownload.

Step 3: Download the Game

Once you’ve found the game you want to download, select it by highlighting it using your controller and pressing “A.” Then choose the “Download” option on the right side of the screen. The game will begin downloading to your console; the time it takes to download will depend on the game’s size, your internet speed and connectivity, and any other issues that may arise.

Step 4: Ensure Sufficient Storage Space

Before you begin downloading any game, it is vital to check that you have enough space on your Nintendo Switch. You can check this in your console settings. If you need to free up space, you can delete unwanted games or files or transfer them to an SD Card.

Step 5: Download the Game Again from Another Nintendo Switch

If you no longer have access to your old Nintendo Switch, you can still redownload your previously purchased games on a new console. Simply sign in with the same Nintendo account you used on your old switch, and your previously purchased games will be available for redownload.

In conclusion, redownloading games on your Nintendo Switch is a quick and easy process that can be done either by accessing the Nintendo eShop or through a new Nintendo Switch. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can enjoy your favorite games again without any hassle. Whether you’re a casual or serious gamer, the Nintendo Switch has a library of games that you can access and enjoy at your convenience.
