How to Put Your iPad in Recovery Mode
If you’re an iPad user, there may come a time when you need to put your device in recovery mode. This could be because your iPad is stuck on the Apple logo, won’t turn on, or is experiencing issues with its software. Whatever the reason, putting your iPad in recovery mode is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps.
Step 1: Connect Your iPad to Your Computer
To start the process of putting your iPad in recovery mode, you’ll need to connect it to a computer using a USB cable. Make sure your iPad is turned off before you do this.
Step 2: Open iTunes
Once your iPad is connected to your computer and the USB cable is plugged in, you’ll need to open iTunes. If you don’t have iTunes installed on your computer, you can download it for free from Apple’s website.
Step 3: Put Your iPad in Recovery Mode
This is the part where you’ll need to follow the steps to put your iPad into recovery mode. The process will vary depending on which iPad model you have, so it’s important to follow the instructions that apply to your device.
For iPad models with Face ID:
1. Press and hold the Top button and either volume button until the power off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
3. Connect your device to your computer while holding the Top button.
4. Keep holding the Top button until you see the recovery-mode screen.
For iPad models with a Home button:
1. Hold down the Home button and the Top button at the same time.
2. Keep holding both buttons until the screen goes black.
3. Release the Top button, but continue holding the Home button until you see the recovery mode symbol on the screen.
Step 4: Restore Your iPad
Once you’re in recovery mode, you’ll see a message on iTunes saying that your iPad is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. Click the “Restore” button to start the process of restoring your iPad.
It’s important to note that restoring your iPad will erase all of your data, so make sure you have a backup of your data before you start the restore process.
Step 5: Wait for Your iPad to be Restored
Once you click the “Restore” button, iTunes will begin downloading the necessary software to restore your iPad. This process can take some time, so be patient. Your iPad may restart multiple times during this process, but don’t disconnect it from your computer until it’s fully restored.
