Introduction:

Clock Patience, also known as Clock Solitaire, is a fun and engaging card game that uses a single standard deck of 52 playing cards. The objective of the game is to place all the cards in their corresponding positions on a clock face before going through the entire deck. This article will teach you how to play Clock Patience in just 11 easy steps.

Step 1: Shuffle the Deck

Before starting, make sure to thoroughly shuffle the deck of playing cards to ensure a random distribution.

Step 2: Lay Out the “Clock”

Lay out the top 12 cards face down in a circle on the table, representing each number on a clock face. Leave enough space in the center for additional cards.

Step 3: Create a Draw Pile

Place the remaining 40 cards in a pile face down next to you. This will be your draw pile throughout the game.

Step 4: Begin Playing

Turn over the top card from your draw pile and observe its value. You’ll now need to place it onto one of your “clock” positions.

Step 5: Position Placement

Cards should be placed in their corresponding positions based on their ranks:

– Ace for 1 o’clock,

– Two for 2 o’clock,

– Three for 3 o’clock,

– Four for 4 o’clock,

– Five for 5 o’clock,

– Six for 6 o’clock,

– Seven for 7 o’clock,

– Eight for 8 o’clock,

– Nine for 9 o’clock,

– Ten for 10 o’clock,

– Jack for 11 o’clock

– Queen for 12 o’clock

Step 6: Card Stacking

As you continue to play and draw cards from your pile, always place them on top of their respective positions. This creates stacks that will become important as you progress through the game.

Step 7: King Rules

In Clock Patience, Kings are “wild cards” and can be placed in the center of your clock. When a King is drawn, place it face up in the center of the circle.

Step 8: Four Kings Rule

The game ends when you draw all four Kings or run out of cards in your draw pile. If you successfully place all cards before reaching the fourth King, you win!

Step 9: Keep an Eye on Your Stacks

Be mindful of the card stacks as they accumulate during gameplay. A clear understanding of your board helps identify potential moves and pitfalls.

Step 10: Practice for Mastery

Clock Patience is a game that requires practice to master. The more you play, the better your chances are at anticipating moves and predicting outcomes.

Step 11: Have Fun

Finally, remember to enjoy yourself! Clock Patience is an entertaining game that will immerse you in its unique strategy for hours of fun.

Conclusion:

Now that you know how to play Clock Patience, gather a deck of cards and try it out for yourself! With a combination of luck and strategy, mastering this exciting solitaire game will provide endless enjoyment and mental stimulation. Happy playing!
