How to Play Body Body: 13 Steps
1. Gather a group of players: Body Body is best played with a group of at least six or more people. The more players involved, the better.
2. Choose a designated play area: This can be an indoor location like a house or an outdoor area like a park or backyard.
3. Select a moderator: The moderator will be responsible for managing the game, assigning roles, and announcing when a round has ended.
4. Assign roles: For each game, you’ll need one “Body,” multiple “Villagers,” and one “Detective.” The moderator will assign these roles to players randomly by using cards or another method that keeps these assignments secret.
5. Explain the rules: Make sure all players understand the rules of the game, including their specific role responsibilities and how to win.
6. Begin the night phase: At the beginning of this phase, the moderator will ask everyone to close their eyes and create some noise by snapping fingers or clapping hands to prevent cheating.
7. Activate the Body: The moderator will ask the Body to open their eyes and discreetly identify another player they want to “eliminate.” The Body then closes their eyes again, and the chosen player is considered ‘eliminated.’
8. Activate the detective: The moderator will then ask the Detective to open their eyes and silently point to another player whom they wish to investigate. The moderator will either nod their head for “yes” if that player is indeed the Body or shake their head for “no” if they are not.
9. Wake up everyone & make announcements: The moderator will announce when it’s time to open eyes and reveal which player, if any, has been eliminated.
10. Discuss & vote for suspects: Now in daylight phase, players can discuss who they think may be the Body. After discussions, they’ll vote for which player they want to “lynch.” The player with the most votes will be removed from the game.
11. Continue alternating between night and daylight phases: The game progresses with alternating night and daylight phases until either the Body is discovered or they have successfully eliminated a specific number of villagers.
12. Declare the winner: A winner can be declared once one of these two conditions has been met. If the detective correctly identifies and the villagers lynch the Body, then they and the remaining Villagers have won. However, if the Body manages to eliminate a certain number of Villagers without being caught, then they win.
13. Restart for more fun: Once a game ends, players can switch roles and play again. Each round provides new opportunities for strategy and deception.
