Introduction:

Black Magic is a popular and entertaining guessing game that is sure to mystify your friends and family. The objective of the game is for one player known as the “guesser” to identify the secret object chosen by another player known as the “magician.” Here are 13 steps to guide you through playing Black Magic like a pro.

1. Gather your players: Ideally, you’ll want at least three people to play Black Magic – the guesser, the magician, and a third person who knows how to play the game called the “assistant.”

2. Have the guesser leave the room: The guesser must step out of sight and earshot of the others while they prepare for the game.

3. Choose a secret object: The magician and assistant should pick a random object in the room. This will be the secret object for the round.

4. Bring back the guesser: Once you’ve chosen an object, bring the guesser back into the room.

5. Begin listing objects for the guesser: The assistant starts by pointing at objects in the room while asking, “Is it this?” Keep doing this until you’ve correctly identified about 10 objects.

6. Magician points to colored object preceding chosen object: Following this sequence, lead up to choosing a black or dark-colored item. Point and ask if that is it.

7. Point at chosen object: After leading into it with a black or dark-colored item, point at the secret object and say “Is it this?”

8. The guesser says final answer: They now give their final answer based on what was led up to in both order and types of objects.

9. Reveal if correct or not: If guessed correctly, congratulate! If not, reveal what they were supposed to pick.

10. Switch roles between rounds: After each round, switch up the roles and give every player a chance to be guesser, magician, and assistant.

11. Use nonverbal cues for advanced play: To make the game more challenging, have experienced magicians use discrete facial expressions or other nonverbal cues to communicate and mislead the guesser.

12. Puzzle spectators with repetition: If you’ve successfully played multiple rounds of Black Magic, onlookers will marvel at your guessing ability. Remember, don’t reveal the secret!

13. Close with a grand finale: Each round should build upon the last. For your final reveal, choose an object that’s well-hidden or unexpected to heighten the anticipation and mystique.

With these 13 steps, you’re set to play Black Magic like a seasoned magician. Use your newfound skills for party tricks or family gatherings and enjoy dazzling your friends with this clever guessing game.
