As the world is becoming more and more digitalised, the use of laptops and computers has become an important aspect of our daily lives. Chromebooks are a popular type of laptop, which run on Google’s Chrome OS operating system. They are known for their simplicity and affordability. However, there are some limitations when it comes to running Windows apps on a Chromebook. In this article, we will be discussing how to open Windows apps on Chromebook.

Step 1: Check Compatibility

Before attempting to run any Windows app on a Chromebook, it is important to check whether the app is compatible with Chrome OS or not. This can be done by visiting the Chrome Web Store and searching for the application you want to use. If the app is compatible, it will be available for download. If it is not available, you may have to consider an alternative application.

Step 2: Install Crossover

Once you have determined that the Windows app is compatible with Chrome OS, the next step is to download and install a third-party application called Crossover. Crossover is a software that enables Chromebook to run Windows applications. It is available for download on the Play Store.

Step 3: Install the App

After successfully downloading and installing Crossover, launch the app and select the Windows application you want to use. If you have the installer file for the app, you can install it directly on your Chromebook through the Crossover app. If not, you can download it from the internet and run it through the Crossover app.

Step 4: Launch the App

Once the installation is complete, the app will become available on your Chromebook. You can launch the app by scrolling through the app list or through the Crossover app itself. After launching the app, you will be able to use it just like you would on a Windows computer.

Conclusion

Although Chromebooks have a different operating system, it is still possible to run Windows applications on them. By following these four easy steps, you can open Windows apps on your Chromebook and enjoy the benefits of both operating systems. With the help of Crossover, Chromebook users can have the flexibility to use any application they need for their daily work, making it an ideal device for both personal and professional use.
