Introduction:

If you’re looking to add some volume and drama to your hairstyle, making your hair poofy is the way to go! Whether it’s for a special event or just a fun change, poofy hair can look great on anyone. Here are nine steps to help you achieve that perfect, voluminous poof.

Step 1: Choose the right products

To make your hair poofy, you’ll need the right products. Good choices include volumizing shampoo and conditioner, heat protectant spray, hair mousse, and hairspray.

Step 2: Wash and condition your hair

To start with a clean base, wash your hair with volumizing shampoo and then apply a volumizing conditioner. Rinse thoroughly and gently towel dry your hair.

Step 3: Apply heat protectant spray

Before using any heated styling tools, be sure to apply a heat protectant spray to help prevent damage to your hair.

Step 4: Apply volumizing mousse

Evenly distribute a small amount of mousse throughout your damp hair. This will help create added lift and hold as you style.

Step 5: Blow-dry your hair upside down

For added volume, flip your head upside down while blow-drying. Focus on lifting your roots by directing airflow at them as you dry.

Step 6: Use a round brush

As you blow-dry, use a round brush to lift and add volume at the roots. Pull the brush upward while directing the airflow down from the dryer.

Step 7: Tease your hair

Once your hair is completely dry, use a comb or brush to gently backcomb the sections that you want more volume in. Tease small sections near your roots by combing toward the scalp.

Step 8: Pin and secure

If desired, take small sections of your teased hair and pin them back to create extra lift. Use bobby pins or small hair clips to hold them in place.

Step 9: Finish with hairspray

Now that your hair is voluminous and poofy, set your style with a strong-hold hairspray. This will ensure that your hairstyle lasts all day (or night) long!

Conclusion:

Achieving poofy hair can be quick and easy with the right tools and techniques. Follow these nine steps to add volume, drama, and fun to your everyday look!
