How to Make Netflix Better by Changing a Few Settings
Netflix has become an integral part of our daily entertainment routine. With a wide range of shows and movies, it’s no surprise that it’s the go-to platform for many people. However, did you know that you can make Netflix even better by tinkering with a few settings? In this article, we’ll walk you through some settings that can help enhance your Netflix experience.
1. Change video quality – One of the most common complaints about Netflix is that the video quality is not always up to par. By default, Netflix sets the video quality based on your internet connection. However, you can change this in the settings by going to “Account > Playback Settings.” Here, you can manually choose the video quality, up to 1080p. If you have a slower internet connection, you can go down to 720p or 480p.
2. Turn off autoplay – When you finish watching an episode of a TV show, Netflix automatically plays the next episode. While this may seem convenient, it can lead to mindless binge-watching. To turn off autoplay, go to “Account > Profile and Parental Controls.” Then, click on your profile and scroll down to “Playback settings.” Here, you can turn off autoplay by unchecking the box that says “Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices.”
3. Use subtitles and captions – Watching shows or movies in a different language can be challenging. However, Netflix provides subtitles and captions, which can help you understand the dialogue better. To turn on subtitles or captions, click on the speech bubble icon in the bottom right corner of the video player. From there, you can choose the language and style of the subtitles.
4. Create different profiles – If you share your Netflix account with family or friends, it can be challenging to keep everyone’s preferences separate. To avoid this, you can create different profiles for each user. This way, each person can have their own watchlist and recommendations. To create a new profile, go to “Account > Manage Profiles” and click on “Add Profile.”
5. Use a VPN – Netflix’s library differs from country to country. By using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), you can access shows and movies that are not available in your region. It’s essential to note that Netflix actively tries to block VPNs, but some VPNs still work. Keep in mind that using a VPN goes against Netflix’s terms of service, so proceed at your own risk.
