If you are an iPhone user, you may be familiar with the default mapping application that comes pre-installed on your device. While this app may suffice for some basic navigation needs, it is not always the best option for more advanced features and functionality. Luckily, it is possible to make Google Maps the default mapping application on your iPhone. Here’s how to do it:

1. Download Google Maps

Before you can make Google Maps your default mapping application, you must first download and install it on your iPhone. You can find the application in the App Store, and it’s free to download and use.

2. Open Google Maps

Once you have downloaded Google Maps, open the application on your iPhone. The app will walk you through the basics of using the service, and you can explore all of the features it has to offer while you get familiar with the interface.

3. Access the Settings Menu

To make Google Maps your default mapping application, you will need to access the settings menu on your iPhone. This can be done by navigating to the “Settings” icon on your home screen.

4. Scroll Down to Google Maps

Once you are in the settings menu, you will need to scroll down until you see the “Google Maps” option. Tap on it to open the settings for this specific app.

5. Tap “Default”

Inside the Google Maps settings menu, you will see an option labeled “Default.” Tap on this option to see the different default mapping applications you have available on your device.

6. Select Google Maps as Default

In the default mapping application menu, you will see a list of different applications that can be set as your device’s default. Simply select Google Maps from this list, and it will become your default mapping application on your iPhone.

Congratulations! You have successfully made Google Maps the default mapping application on your iPhone. From now on, whenever you open a link or request directions through your device, Google Maps will automatically be used. This means you can enjoy all of the advanced features and functionality that Google Maps has to offer without having to manually switch between different applications.
