Step 1: Gather Materials

Before you start making your paper iPhone, gather all the necessary materials. You’ll need:

– A printout of an iPhone template (search online for a desired size and design)

– Scissors

– Ruler

– Pencil

– Glue or double-sided tape

– Colored paper or cardstock (optional)

Step 2: Cut Out the iPhone Template

Using scissors, carefully cut out the iPhone template. Be sure to follow the edges closely, so that you have a clean and neat outline.

Step 3: Trace the Template onto Your Chosen Paper

Place the cut-out template onto your desired paper and trace around it with a pencil. If you want your paper iPhone to be sturdier, we recommend using cardstock.

Step 4: Cut Out Your Paper iPhone

Once you’ve traced your iPhone shape onto the paper, use scissors to carefully cut it out.

Step 5: Add an Additional Layer for Sturdiness (Optional)

If you want your paper iPhone to be even sturdier, trace and cut out a second piece of paper or cardstock. Glue it to the back of your first cut-out to add an extra layer.

Step 6: Print and Cut Out Screen Icons and Apps

Search online for images of the home screen, app icons, and any other elements you want on your paper iPhone, such as buttons or logos. Print these images at a suitable size and cut them out with scissors.

Step 7: Arrange Icons on Your Paper iPhone

Arrange the icons on your paper iPhone in the desired positions, mimicking the appearance of a real iPhone’s home screen.

Step 8: Glue or Tape Icons in Place

Once you’re satisfied with the placement of your icons, carefully glue or tape them in position to secure them permanently.

Step 9: Create the Side Buttons

Cut out small rectangular pieces of paper for the volume and power buttons. Glue or tape them to the sides of your paper iPhone in their appropriate locations.

Step 10: Add a Camera

Cut out a small circle or oval from black paper and place it in the appropriate position for the rear camera, securing it with glue or tape.

Step 11: Create a Protective Screen (Optional)

If you want to create a protective screen for your paper iPhone, cut out a piece of clear plastic to the size of the screen. Secure it in place using clear glue or double-sided tape.

Step 12: Personalize Your Paper iPhone

Decorate your paper iPhone with customized colors, patterns, stickers or other embellishments to make it uniquely yours.

Step 13: Show Off Your Creation

Now that your paper iPhone is complete, show it off to friends and family proudly! Enjoy having a fun, homemade iPhone that showcases your creativity.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
