How to Make a Frappe: 15 Steps

A frappe is a refreshing and delicious iced beverage that’s perfect for warm weather or when you’re in need of a pick-me-up.

Follow these 15 steps to make the perfect frappe at home:

1. Gather your ingredients: You’ll need coffee, ice, milk or a milk substitute, sweeteners (such as sugar or syrup), and any additional flavorings or toppings you like.

2. Choose your coffee: Select a high-quality, freshly ground coffee for the best flavor. You can use regular or decaffeinated, depending on your preference.

3. Brew your coffee: Brew a strong cup of coffee using a French press, espresso machine or drip coffee maker. Allow the coffee to cool completely.

4. Prepare the ice: Crushed ice works best for frappes, so place a handful of ice cubes in a blender and pulse until they’re finely crushed.

5. Add the milk: Pour your choice of milk or milk substitute into the blender with the crushed ice. You can also use flavored creamers for an added twist.

6. Sweeten it up: Add the desired amount of sugar, syrup or other sweeteners to the blender and blend until well combined.

7. Mix in additional flavors if desired: If you want to add an extra burst of flavor, consider adding chocolate sauce, caramel syrup or even fruit purees.

8. Blend everything together: Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Be sure not to over-blend, as this can cause the frappe to become watery.

9. Taste and adjust: If needed, adjust the sweetness or flavors by adding more sweeteners or flavorings and blending again until you get your perfect frappe taste.

10. Prepare your serving glass: To take your presentation up a notch, consider drizzling chocolate syrup or caramel sauce inside the glass before pouring in your frappe.

11. Pour your frappe: Gently pour the blended frappe mixture into your prepared glass, filling it almost to the top.

12. Add whipped cream: For an extra touch of indulgence, top your frappe with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

13. Add toppings: You can garnish your frappe with a sprinkling of chocolate chips, crushed cookies or nuts, or a dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon.

14. Add a straw and serve: Insert a tall straw into the glass and serve immediately. Frappes are best enjoyed right away before the ice starts to melt.

15. Enjoy your homemade frappe: Sit back, relax and savor every refreshing sip of your perfectly crafted frappe. Cheers!
