Step 1: Identify Your Passion

Consider what activities or sports you enjoy and are passionate about. Your new sport should be something that excites you and holds your interest.

Step 2: Determine the Objective

Outline the main goal of the sport, such as scoring points, racing to a finish line, or achieving a specific physical feat.

Step 3: Establish the Rules

Create a set of rules that clearly define how the game is played, from start to finish. Make sure the rules are easy to understand and enforceable.

Step 4: Define the Playing Field

Establish the dimensions and boundaries of the playing area, considering factors such as available space, equipment, and safety concerns.

Step 5: Choose Your Equipment

Determine what equipment is needed for your sport, whether it be balls, sticks, nets, or protective gear. Be inventive and resourceful!

Step 6: Develop Scoring Systems

Decide how points will be awarded based on player performance. Consider incorporating penalties for rule violations.

Step 7: Create Team Structures

Choose whether your sport will be played individually or in teams. If it’s a team sport, decide on team sizes, positions, and roles.

Step 8: Design Uniforms

Consider creating unique uniforms that represent the spirit of your sport. This can help players feel more connected and invested in your invention.

Step 9: Incorporate Strategy

Make sure that players have opportunities for strategic play by designing varied scenarios or incorporating multiple ways for teams to score points.

Step 10: Test Your Sport

Gather a group of friends or family members to try out your new sport. Pay attention to their feedback and make adjustments as needed.

Step 11: Promote Your Sport

Introduce your new sport to friends, family, local clubs, or online communities. Be prepared to explain the rules and benefits of your invention.

Step 12: Organize Events

Host local matches, tournaments, or leagues to spark interest and gather a community of players who are passionate about your sport.

Step 13: Seek Sponsorship

Pursue partnerships with local businesses or organizations that might be interested in endorsing and financially supporting your new sport.

Step 14: Document Your Sport

Record your sport’s history, from its conception to the development of a thriving community. This documentation can serve as a foundation for future growth and recognition.

Step 15: Grow Your Sport

As your sport gains traction, leverage events, sponsorships, and participation to grow and evolve your new sport into a mainstream activity.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
