As an avid reader and Kindle user, highlighting passages and adding notes to e-books has become an essential part of my reading experience. It’s a great way to retain important information, mark memorable quotes or passages, and share thoughts and insights with others. In this article, I will explain how to highlight passages and add notes on Kindle.

Step 1: Highlighting Passages

To highlight a passage on Kindle, simply drag your finger across the screen from the beginning to the end of the desired text. You will see the selected text highlighted in yellow. You can also change the color of the highlight by tapping on the highlighted text and selecting “more.”

To view your highlights and notes, tap on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and select “Notes & Marks.” Here, you can view all of your highlights and notes for the current book, as well as access the “My Notebook” feature, which displays all of your notes and highlights from all of your books.

Step 2: Adding Notes

To add a note on Kindle, tap and hold on the word or phrase you want to annotate. You will see a pop-up menu with several options, including “Add Note.” Tap on this option, and a text box will appear where you can type your note.

You can also add notes directly from the “Notes & Marks” menu by tapping on the “+ Add a Note” button at the bottom of the screen. This will bring up a text box where you can type your note and select the location where you want it to be placed.

Step 3: Sharing Your Highlights and Notes

Sharing your highlights and notes with others is easy on Kindle. Simply tap on the desired highlight or note to open the pop-up menu, then select “Share.” You can choose to share your selection via email, Facebook, Twitter, or other social media platforms.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
