In our increasingly connected world, privacy has become a paramount concern for many social media users. With platforms like Facebook, controlling who sees your content is more important than ever. If you’re looking to keep your posts away from prying eyes, here’s how you can hide all of your Facebook posts from the public or even from friends.

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Hide All Posts on Facebook

Adjusting Privacy Settings for Future Posts:

1.Login to Your Facebook Account: Visit facebook.com and sign in with your credentials.

2.Access Privacy Settings: Click on the downward arrow at the top right corner of the main page and select ‘Settings & Privacy’ > ‘Settings.’

3.Locate the Privacy Section: On the left sidebar, click on ‘Privacy.’

4.Edit Your Post Settings: Find the section labeled ‘Your Activity’ and click on ‘Edit’ next to ‘Who can see your future posts?’

5.Select Audience for Posts: Change the audience from ‘Public’ or ‘Friends’ to either ‘Friends except…’ or ‘Only me,’ depending on your preference.

 Making Past Posts Private:

1.Visit Privacy Settings: Repeat steps 1 through 3 mentioned above.

2.Use Limit Past Posts Function: In the ‘Your Activity’ section, find the ‘Limit who can see past posts’ link.

3.Change Audience for Old Posts: Click on ‘Limit Past Posts,’ then confirm your decision to change old posts that may have been shared with the Public or Friends of Friends to be shared with Friends only.

 Individual Post Visibility:

1.Go to Your Timeline: Click on your name at the top right of the page to view your profile.

2.Find a Specific Post: Scroll through your timeline and locate the post you want to hide.

3.Click on the Three Dots: On the top right corner of the post, click on the three dots for more options.

4.Change Privacy Setting: Select ‘Edit Post’ and then click on the audience selector button (usually represented by a small icon showing who can currently see the post) and choose a more private setting such as ‘Only me.’

 Hide From Select Friends:

1.Create a Custom List: While editing privacy settings for each post, you can opt for a custom share where you exclude particular friends from seeing your content.

 Using Facebook’s Timeline Review Feature:

1.Enable Timeline Review: Go back to ‘Settings & Privacy,’ > ‘Settings,’ then select ‘Profile and Tagging’ found in the left sidebar.

2.Review Posts You’re Tagged In: Under ‘Review,’ edit settings so you can review posts that you’re tagged in before they appear on your timeline.

By meticulously managing these settings, you can ensure greater control over your online persona and protect your privacy. Whether it’s a future or past activity, give yourself peace of mind knowing that what you share on Facebook stays just among those you trust or only for yourself.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
