Windows 11 is the latest operating system by Microsoft, and it comes with many new features and improvements. One of the most significant changes in Windows 11 is the redesigned Start menu. The Start menu in Windows 11 is more intuitive and easier to use than its predecessors. One of the best features of the Start menu in Windows 11 is the ability to group desktop shortcut icons. In this article, we will show you how to group desktop shortcut icons in Windows 11.

Step 1: Select Desktop Shortcut Icons

The first step to group desktop shortcut icons in Windows 11 is to select the icons you want to group. To select multiple icons at once, use the Ctrl + Left Click method. Hold down the Ctrl key, click on the first icon, and then click on the other icons you want to select.

Step 2: Group Desktop Shortcut Icons

Once you have selected the desktop shortcut icons you want to group, right-click on one of the selected icons. In the context menu that appears, select “Group.”

Step 3: Name the Group

After you select “Group,” a new group will be created on your desktop. Windows 11 will automatically assign a name to the group based on the type of icons you have selected. To rename the group, click on the group’s name and type a new name.

Step 4: Customize Group Settings

Once you have created the group and named it, you can customize its settings. Right-click on the group and select “Group Settings.” In the settings window, you can change the group’s name, icon, and color.

Step 5: Ungroup the Desktop Shortcut Icons

If you ever want to ungroup the desktop shortcut icons, right-click on the group and select “Ungroup.” This will remove the group and restore the icons to their original positions on your desktop.

In conclusion, Windows 11 has made it easier than ever to group desktop shortcut icons. With just a few clicks, you can group your icons and organize your desktop. This feature is especially helpful for users who have many shortcut icons on their desktop and want to keep them organized. So, the next time you want to group your desktop shortcut icons in Windows 11, follow these steps, and you will be good to go.
