Spread the love

Pokémon Emerald is a beloved classic in the Pokémon franchise, combining the best of both Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire into an amazing journey through the Hoenn region. One of the key HM moves that players must obtain to navigate this world is Waterfall. This powerful water-type move enables your Pokémon to climb cascading waterfalls and access new areas, as well as serving as a strong attack in battle. Follow this step-by-step guide to acquire Waterfall in Pokémon Emerald!

1. Progress through the game and earn Badges:

To obtain Waterfall, you need to have advanced in the game and won at least seven Gym badges. You’ll receive HM07 containing Waterfall after completing certain events in the main storyline.

2. Go to Cave of Origin:

After you have defeated Team Magma at their hideout on Mt. Pyre and witnessed Kyogre and Groudon’s awakening, head over to Sootopolis City, which houses the Cave of Origin. You’ll encounter Kyogre or Groudon (depending on your version) inside this cave. Make sure you have an adequate team of Pokémon before facing these Legendary titans!

3. Defeat or Capture Kyogre or Groudon:

Battle either Kyogre (in Emerald) or Groudon (in Ruby/Sapphire) upon encountering them within the Cave of Origin. It’s highly recommended that you capture these powerful Legendary Pokémon, but defeating them works as well.

4. Obtain HM07 Waterfall:

After resolving the conflict between Kyogre and Groudon, you’ll be visited by Wallace, the Sootopolis City Gym Leader. He will praise your efforts and reward you with HM07 – Waterfall.

5. Teach Waterfall to one of your Pokémon:

Now that you have obtained HM07, open your bag and navigate to the TMs and HMs pocket. Select HM07 and choose the Pokémon you’d like to teach Waterfall. Keep in mind that Waterfall is a powerful water-type move, so it’s best to teach it to a water-type Pokémon or one with high Attack stat.

6. Get the Rain Badge:

Before you can use Waterfall outside of battles, you need to earn the Rain Badge from Sootopolis City’s Gym Leader, Wallace. After winning the battle against him and earning your eighth badge, you’ll gain the ability to use Waterfall outside of combat.

7. Climb waterfalls and explore new areas:

With Waterfall now under your command, you can scale cascading falls found throughout Hoenn, opening new paths and secrets for you to discover!

Congratulations! You have successfully obtained Waterfall in Pokémon Emerald! Enjoy the newfound power and exploration capabilities this essential HM move provides on your journey through the Hoenn region.
