1. Self-reflection: Evaluate yourself, your values, and your relationships. Determine the kind of people you want in your life and the qualities you value in a friend. By understanding yourself, you’ll have a better foundation for choosing friends that align with your beliefs.

2. Set healthy boundaries: Establishing healthy boundaries from the beginning will help avoid toxic friendships and allow for mutual respect within the relationship.

3. Be yourself: In order to attract like-minded individuals, don’t be afraid to be true to who you are. Authenticity will draw in those who appreciate your genuine nature.

4. Take initiative: Reach out to people who interest you and make an effort to engage with them. Attending social events or joining clubs can facilitate meeting new people.

5. Be a good listener: Developing listening skills will help deepen relationships as others feel heard and valued.

6. Pursue personal growth: As you grow personally, others will be inspired by your development and will want to share this journey with you.

7. Show kindness and empathy: Form deeper connections by expressing care and understanding for others’ feelings and situations.

8. Seek common interests: Shared hobbies or interests provide an excellent foundation for friendships. Look for friends who enjoy doing activities that you also find interesting.

9. Communicate openly: Effective communication is essential for any healthy friendship. Express your thoughts and feelings respectfully to nurture trust in each other.

10. Always be honest: By being open, honest, and transparent, you set the stage for strong friendships founded on trust.

11. Maintain balance: Every relationship requires give-and-take. Strive to maintain an equitable balance between giving support and receiving support.

12. Trust the process: Finding better friends takes time, so be patient, persistent, and mindful in your search for deeper connections with those around you.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
