Step 1: Clear and clean the tent

Start by removing any debris from inside the tent, as well as outside. Ensure the tent is well cleaned to prevent damage when folding.

Step 2: Close the doors and windows

Make sure all the doors and windows of your pop-up tent are zipped up to avoid trapping air during the folding process.

Step 3: Remove stakes and poles

Take out any stakes anchoring your pop-up tent to the ground, and remove its poles if they’re installed.

Step 4: Lay down the tent

With all openings closed and stakes removed, lay the tent flat on a smooth surface with its entrance facing you.

Step 5: Flatten the sides

Press down on the top of your tent to flatten its sides and release any trapped air. This will make folding easier.

Step 6: Locating top poles

Identify two connected poles at the top of your tent that form an “X” shape when viewed from above.

Step 7: Grabbing corners

Hold onto each corner formed where the two poles meet at the top of your tent, using both hands.

Step 8: Inverting top poles

Gently bend these poles towards each other until they are parallel – this should cause your pop-up tent to collapse into a folded position.

Step 9: Aligning edges

Adjust and align all edges so they’re even, ensuring there are no protruding sections or unwanted wrinkles.

Step 10: Press out trapped air again

Press down on any areas where air might still be trapped in order to release it, resulting in a flatter fold for easier storage.

Step 11: Fold one edge over another

Take one edge of your collapsed pop-up tent and fold it over the other, creating a roughly circular shape.

Step 12: Secure with a strap or string

Fasten your folded pop-up tent with a strap or string to prevent it from springing open during transport and storage.

Step 13: Store the tent

Place your neatly folded pop-up tent into its carrying case or storage bag, ensuring you also store any stakes and poles safely. Your tent is now ready for transport or storage until your next outdoor adventure!

Follow these 13 simple steps, and you will be able to fold up your pop-up tent like a pro in no time. Happy camping!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
