How to Fix Windows 10 Sleep Mode Issues
As a Windows 10 user, you may often face some issues while using the Sleep mode feature on your PC. It can be frustrating when your computer doesn’t wake up from Sleep mode, or when it takes too long to wake up from Sleep mode, or when it goes into Sleep mode by itself and doesn’t wake up. In this article, we will discuss some common Windows 10 Sleep mode issues and how to fix them.
1. Update Windows 10: One of the common reasons why your Windows 10 PC might be having Sleep mode issues is because of outdated software. It is always recommended to keep your PC up-to-date with the latest Windows updates to improve the overall performance of the system. To check for updates, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on Check for updates.
2. Check Power Management Settings: Another reason why your PC might be encountering Sleep mode issues is because of the Power Management settings. By default, some PCs might have certain settings like Hybrid sleep or Fast startup enabled, which can cause Sleep mode issues. To check these settings, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings and disable options like Fast startup or Hybrid sleep.
3. Check Hardware Connections: Sometimes, Sleep mode issues can also arise due to hardware issues. If your PC is not waking up from Sleep mode, it is recommended to check all the hardware connections, including the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and power supply. Make sure all the cables are properly connected, and the power supply is not damaged.
4. Run Power Troubleshooter: Windows 10 comes with a built-in Power Troubleshooter that can help you identify and fix Sleep mode issues. To run the troubleshooter, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Power and click on Run the troubleshooter.
5. Disable Sleep mode: If none of the above solutions work, you can also try disabling Sleep mode altogether. While this might not be an ideal solution, it can be a temporary fix until you find a permanent solution. To do this, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings and select Never from the Sleep drop-down menu.
