One of the most common problems that Windows 10 users face is the left click mouse button not working. This can not only be frustrating, but also make it difficult to perform even the most basic tasks on your computer. Fortunately, there are several solutions that you can try to fix this problem.

1. Check Your Mouse Connection

The first thing you should do is check your mouse connection. Make sure that it is securely plugged into your computer’s USB port. If you’re using a wireless mouse, make sure that the batteries are correctly installed and that the USB receiver is plugged into your computer.

2. Restart Your Computer

Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can fix the left click mouse button not working problem. This can help reset any drivers or programs that may be causing the issue.

3. Update Your Mouse Driver

Your mouse driver could be outdated, causing it to malfunction. To update your mouse driver, follow these steps:

1. Press the Windows key + X and select “Device Manager”.

2. Find the “Mice and other pointing devices” section and expand it.

3. Right-click on your mouse and select “Update driver”.

4. Select “Search automatically for updated driver software” and follow the prompts.

4. Run a Virus Scan

A virus or malware infection can cause unexpected behavior from your computer, including problems with your mouse. Run a full virus scan on your computer to ensure that it’s not the cause of your mouse button not working.

5. Disable Tablet Mode

If you’re using a Windows tablet, then you may have inadvertently turned on tablet mode. This mode can cause problems with your mouse. To turn off tablet mode, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Start button and select “Settings”.

2. Select “System”.

3. Go to the “Tablet mode” section and toggle off the “Make Windows more touch-friendly” option.

6. Check the Mouse Settings

The mouse settings on your computer may have changed, causing your left click mouse button not to work. To check your settings, follow these steps:

1. Press the Windows key + I and select “Devices”.

2. Select “Mouse” from the left panel.

3. Check that the “Left button” is set to “Click”.
