Chromecast is a popular streaming device that allows users to stream various content from their smartphones, laptops, or tablets to their TV. But, sometimes, the device may experience operational glitches, leaving it in a blinking or solid orange light that won’t go away. In this article, we will show you how to fix it when Chromecast is blinking or showing a solid orange light.

1. Restart your Chromecast

The first solution to try when Chromecast is blinking or showing a solid orange light is to restart it. Unplug the device from the power source and wait for a few seconds before plugging it back in. This action will help clear the device’s memory, and in most cases, it solves the problem.

2. Check your power source

Sometimes, the issue may arise from the power source. If the device is not receiving enough power, it may not perform optimally. Ensure that the power source you are using is correct and stable enough to power the Chromecast device.

3. Use a compatible power adapter

If the power source is not the issue, then the power adapter might be. Chromecast requires a specific voltage range to operate correctly, and using a power adapter that doesn’t meet those requirements may result in performance issues. Always use the original power adapter that came with your Chromecast to prevent this problem.

4. Check your internet connection

Chromecast heavily relies on your Wi-Fi connection to function correctly. If you are experiencing an orange light, it could be due to a weak or unstable internet connection. Restart your Wi-Fi router, and if the problem persists, consider using a wired connection instead.

5. Reset your Chromecast

If all the above solutions fail, then you might have to reset your Chromecast device to its factory settings. This action will erase all your data and restore the device to its default settings. To reset Chromecast, use the reset button located next to the power source or follow the instructions on the app.

Conclusion

Chromecast is an excellent device that enhances the streaming experience. However, when it starts blinking or showing a solid orange light, it can become frustrating. Luckily, the above solutions can help fix the problem and have your device up and running in no time. If you try all these solutions and the problem persists, you might have to contact Chromecast support for further assistance.
