Windows 11 is the latest operating system released by Microsoft. Despite the improvements and added features, some users are experiencing freezing issues. When your computer freezes, it indicates that there is a problem with the operating system, hardware, or any installed application. This article guides you on how to fix the freezing issues on Windows 11.

1. Update Windows 11: One of the common causes of freezing issues is outdated Windows 11. Microsoft regularly release updates to fix bugs and issues. If you haven’t updated your Windows 11, do it now!

a. Click on the Start menu
b. Click on the Settings gear icon
c. Click on the menu option, called Windows Update
d. Click on Check for updates
e. Click on the Download and Install button if there is any update ready for installation.

2. Uninstall Problematic Programs: Some installed apps could be the reason for your computer freezing.

a. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager
b. Click on More details
c. Click on the Startup tab
d. Disable any application that is not necessary or you think could be causing the issue.
e. Finally, restart your computer and check if it still hangs.

3. Check for Malware: Malware such as viruses, spyware or ransomware can cause your system to freeze. Install an antivirus software, scan your computer for any malicious files, and remove them.

4. Remove Temporary Files: Large temporary files tend to take a lot of disk space, and they could slow down your windows system. You can remove temporary files using the following method:

a. Press Windows key + R to open the Run program
b. Type in %temp% and hit Enter
c. Select all files and delete them
d. Confirm by clicking on Yes.

5. Update Drivers: Ensure that all your device drivers are updated.

a. Right-click on the Start button
b. Click on Device Manager
c. Navigate to the Devices whose drivers you want to update
d. Right-click on the device
e. Click on Update driver
f. Choose the option, called Search automatically for updated driver software.

6. Run Disk Cleanup: Your windows system could have accumulated large files over time that may affect your system performance. You can run a Disk Cleanup to fix freezing issues.

a. Press Windows + S to open the search box
b. Type in Disk Cleanup and select it
c. Select the drives you want to clean up and press OK
d. Click on Clean up System Files
e. Wait for it to calculate the amount of space that the selected files will take up
f. Click OK to complete the process.

7. Contact Technical Support: If the above methods failed to fix the freezing issues, seek assistance from technical support. They can quickly diagnose the problem and offer a proper solution.

In conclusion, Windows 11 freezing issues are frustrating, but they are solvable. Make sure that your operating system is updated, remove unnecessary programs, check for malware, update device drivers, run disk cleanup, and reach out for technical assistance if needed. By following the above steps, you can get back to enjoying Windows 11 without experiencing freezing issues.
