How to Find Your Hard Disk’s Model and Serial Number in Windows 10

Your hard disk drive (HDD) is an essential component of your computer, responsible for storing and retrieving your data. Over time, your HDD model and serial number may be required for troubleshooting purposes or to check your warranty status. In this article, we will show you how to find your hard disk’s model and serial number in Windows 10.

Method 1: Using Device Manager

1. Open Device Manager by pressing Windows Key + X and selecting Device Manager from the menu.

2. Expand the Disk Drives section.

3. Identify your hard disk drive in the list, right-click and select Properties.

4. In the Properties window, select the Details tab.

5. In the property drop-down menu, select Hardware Ids.

6. Look for the value starting with “IDE” or “SCSI” followed by your HDD’s model name and serial number.

Method 2: Using Command Prompt

1. Open Command Prompt by pressing Windows Key + R, typing cmd, and pressing Enter.

2. Type the following command and press Enter: wmic diskdrive get model,serialnumber

3. The command will display your hard disk’s model name and serial number.

Method 3: Using PowerShell

1. Open PowerShell by pressing Windows Key + X and selecting Windows PowerShell (Admin).

2. Type the following command and press Enter: Get-PhysicalDisk | select model,serialnumber

3. The command will display your hard disk’s model name and serial number.

In conclusion, these are the three simple methods to find your hard disk’s model and serial number in Windows 10. By knowing this information, you can easily troubleshoot any issues related to your hard disk or check your warranty status.
