If you have been using your Windows computer for a while, you might have noticed that there are many empty folders scattered around your system. These empty folders can take up a lot of valuable storage space, and they can also make it difficult to find the files and folders you actually need.

Fortunately, it is easy to find and delete empty folders on Windows. In this article, we will guide you through the process.

How to Find Empty Folders on Windows

The easiest way to find empty folders on your Windows computer is to use the built-in search function. Here’s how:

1. Open File Explorer by pressing the Windows key + E on your keyboard.

2. Navigate to the root of the drive you want to search by clicking on it in the left-hand pane.

3. In the search box in the top-right corner of the window, type the following command: size:0

4. Press Enter. Windows will now search for all files and folders with a size of zero.

5. If there are any empty folders, they will appear in the search results.

6. To view the contents of a folder, double-click on it in the search results window.

How to Delete Empty Folders on Windows

Now that you have found the empty folders on your Windows computer, it’s time to delete them. Here’s how:

1. Right-click on an empty folder you want to delete and select Delete.

2. If you are prompted with a confirmation message, click Yes.

3. Alternatively, you can select multiple empty folders at once by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on each folder. Once you have selected all the empty folders you want to delete, right-click on one of the selected folders and select Delete.

4. If there are any subfolders inside an empty folder, you will need to delete them first before you can delete the empty folder itself.

5. To permanently delete the empty folders, open the Recycle Bin and click on the Empty Recycle Bin button.

Conclusion

Finding and deleting empty folders on Windows is an easy way to free up space on your hard drive and make it easier to organize your files and folders. By following the steps outlined in this article, you should be able to find and delete all the empty folders on your system in no time.
