How to Finally Get Rid of Games From Your Steam Account

As a gamer, it’s not uncommon to accumulate a large collection of games on your Steam account. However, as time goes on, some of these games may lose their appeal or become irrelevant to your interests. If you’re looking to declutter your Steam library and get rid of games you no longer play, you’re in luck. Below are some tips on how to finally get rid of games from your Steam account.

1. Uninstall Unwanted Games:

The first step in getting rid of games from your Steam account is to uninstall the ones you no longer want. To do this, simply navigate to the library section of your Steam account, right-click on the game you want to remove, and select “uninstall.” This will remove the game from your computer, making space for other games you do want to play.

2. Hide Games:

If there are games you want to keep but don’t want to see in your library, you can hide them. This will remove them from your visible library and allow you to focus on the games you’re interested in playing. To do this, right-click on the game you want to hide, select “set categories,” and then check the box for “hide this game in my library.”

3. Remove Games from Your Account:

If you no longer want a game to be associated with your Steam account, you can remove it permanently. This is useful if you want to sell or give away a game to someone else. To do this, you’ll need to contact Steam support and request that they remove the game from your account. Keep in mind that this process is irreversible, so be sure you want to remove the game before contacting support.

4. Sell Games:

If you have games you no longer want but are still valuable, you can sell them. Steam offers a marketplace where you can sell games to other users. To do this, navigate to the “inventory” section of your Steam account, select the game you want to sell, and click “sell.” You’ll be able to set your own price and earn money from the sale.

5. Give Away Games:

If you have friends or family members who are interested in gaming, you can give away games you no longer want. Steam allows you to gift games to other users, making it easy to share your gaming experience with others. To do this, select the game you want to give away, click on “send gift,” and enter the recipient’s email address.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
