Microsoft Office is a powerful software suite that offers a wide range of tools for productivity, creativity, and collaboration. Whether you’re working on a document, spreadsheet, or presentation, Office makes it easy to complete your tasks efficiently.

One great feature of Office is dark mode, which is helpful when you’re working in low-light settings or just prefer a darker color scheme. In this article, we’ll show you how to enable dark mode in Microsoft Office.

Step 1: Update Office

Before you can enable dark mode, make sure that you have the latest version of Office. Check for updates by clicking on “File” in any Office application, then selecting “Account” and “Update Options.” Click on “Update Now” to download and install any available updates.

Step 2: Select the Theme

Once you have updated Office, you’re ready to enable dark mode. In any Office application, click on “File” and select “Options.” Next, click on “General” and find the “Office Theme” section.

There are three theme options: “Colorful,” “Dark Gray,” and “Black.” Choose either “Dark Gray” or “Black” to enable dark mode. The “Dark Gray” option is a lighter shade of black, while “Black” is a true black theme.

Step 3: Apply the Theme

Once you have selected your desired theme, click on “OK” to apply it. Your Office application will now switch to dark mode, and all menus, toolbars, and dialogs will adopt a darker color scheme.

You can switch back to the light mode theme at any time by following the same steps and selecting “Colorful” or “Light Gray.”

Conclusion

Enabling dark mode in Microsoft Office can help reduce eye strain and improve your overall computing experience, especially when working in low-light settings or for extended periods of time. By following the steps above, you can easily switch to a darker color scheme in any Office application.
