Bleach baths can be a beneficial treatment for various skin conditions, such as eczema, psoriasis, and even to lighten hair color. The purpose of this article is to help you properly perform a bleach bath in 13 simple steps.

.Consult with your physician or dermatologist: Before beginning any treatment plan, it’s essential to consult a healthcare professional to ensure that a bleach bath is safe and suitable for your specific condition.

.Gather materials: You will need regular-strength liquid bleach, lukewarm water, a clean bathtub, measuring cup, rubber gloves, and towels.

.Clean the bathtub: Make sure the bathtub is clean and rinse it thoroughly before starting the process.

.Put on rubber gloves: To protect your hands from irritation, wear rubber gloves while handling the bleach solution.

.Measure out the bleach: Generally, you should use half a cup of bleach for a full bathtub of water. However, follow your healthcare professional’s recommendation for the appropriate amount of bleach needed.

.Fill the bathtub with lukewarm water: Fill the tub with enough water to cover your body when sitting down. Avoid using hot water as it may cause skin irritation.

.Add the bleach to the water: Slowly pour the measured amount of bleach into the tub while gently stirring the water to ensure proper distribution.

.Soak in the tub: Carefully get into the tub and submerge your body in the water for 10-15 minutes (do not submerge your face). Make sure all areas affected by skin conditions are submerged and avoid rubbing or scratching those areas during this time.

.Stay relaxed: Sit back and take this time for yourself while soaking in the tub—listen to soothing music or read a book to make this time more enjoyable.

.Drain and rinse: After 10-15 minutes, drain the tub and carefully rinse off the bleach solution using lukewarm water.

.Gently pat your skin dry: Once out of the tub, pat yourself dry with a soft, clean towel. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the skin to prevent irritation.

.Apply moisturizer: After drying off, apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to your clean skin to help lock in moisture and soothe any irritation caused by the bleach bath.

.Repeat as needed: Depending on your specific condition and doctor’s advice, you may need to perform bleach baths once or twice a week. Make sure you follow their recommendations closely for best results.

By following these 13 steps, a bleach bath can offer relief from certain skin conditions while also providing some personal self-care time. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any treatment plan and never hesitate to reach out if you have concerns or questions.
