How to Delete Your Amazon Account

Amazon is one of the biggest online retailers in the world. With its easy ordering system, fast delivery, and countless products, it is a go-to platform for many shoppers. However, if you are looking to delete your Amazon account, it might be for several reasons. Whether you are looking to protect your privacy or just reduce online activity, below are the steps to delete your Amazon account.

Step 1: Sign in to your Amazon account

First, you need to open your Amazon account and log in to your account. You can do this either by going to the Amazon website or by opening the Amazon App. After opening the login page, enter your email address and password, and click on the ‘Sign In’ button.

Step 2: Go to Your Account Page

After you have successfully signed in to Amazon, click on the ‘Account & Lists’ button from the top right side of the page. This will take you to your Amazon account page.

Step 3: Choose ‘Prime Membership’ option

Once you have reached your account page, scroll down, and click on the ‘Prime Membership’ option. After opening Prime Membership on your account page, you will see the ‘Manage Membership’ button.

Step 4: Cancelling Amazon Prime membership

Click on the ‘Manage Membership’ Button. Here, you’ll get options for cancelling your subscription. Choose the ‘End Membership and Benefits’ option. Amazon will then ask if you want to cancel your membership benefits. Confirm that you want to end your membership by clicking on the “Cancel My Benefits” button.

Step 5: Disable Your Amazon Account

After you have cancelled your Prime Membership, it is time to disable your Amazon account. Scroll down to the bottom of your account page, and look for the ‘Other Accounts’ section. Click on ‘Close Your Amazon Account’ and follow the instructions.

Step 6: Confirm disabling Your Amazon Account

After clicking on the ‘Close Your Amazon Account’ button, Amazon will ask you some questions so that they can improve. Once you have answered all of the questions, you need to click the ‘Close My Account’ button to confirm that you want to disable your Amazon account.

Step 7: Contact Customer Service

In case, you need additional help or assistance, you can contact the Amazon customer service. You can contact them through phone or chat. It is essential to contact Amazon customer service if you had a Prime Membership or if your account had a balance.

Conclusion

To sum up, Amazon has made it easy for users to delete their accounts. However, it is essential to remember to cancel your Prime Membership first before closing your Amazon account. By following the above steps, you can delete your Amazon account in no time. Remember, once the account is deleted, all of your saved data, payment options, purchase history, and product reviews will be lost permanently.
