Lynels are one of the most difficult enemies in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They are large, beastly creatures that are able to take and deal out extreme damage. Fortunately, with the right tactics, you can defeat a Lynel and use its precious materials to upgrade your weapons and armor.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to defeat a Lynel in Zelda: BOTW:

  1. Collect the right weapons and armor

Before facing a Lynel, you need to make sure you have the best weapons and armor possible. Equip weapons that have high attack power such as two-handed weapons or weapons that can stun the Lynel such as Bows and Arrows. You also need to wear the best armor for protection. Wear armor that increases your defense and may also give you bonuses such as increase damage dealt while airborne.

  1. Study the Lynel’s movements

To plan your attack, you should pay attention to the Lynel’s movements. Lynels have different phases and each one has a specific movement set. For instance, if the Lynel draws its bow, you can dodge or jump to the nearest obstacle. Similarly, if it rushes towards you, you can dodge its attack by sidejumping or backflipping.

  1. Take advantage of environmental factors

The environment also plays a crucial role in defeating Lynels. During your fight, take advantage of your surroundings by hiding behind obstacles or pillars. You can also use the environment to attack the Lynel such as throwing bombs or utilizing heights to kamikaze dash attack.

  1. Go for the Lynel’s weak points

Lynels have weak points that you can hit to reduce their health significantly. The two most common weak points are the Lynel’s head and legs. Shooting the Lynel in the head with an arrow or attacking its legs will stun it, which gives you the perfect opportunity to attack the Lynel’s body.

  1. Don’t give up

Remember, a Lynel is a tough enemy and it may take a while to defeat it – don’t give up. Keep your attacks going and be patient with your strategy. Observing its movements, utilizing the environment, and hitting its weak points can all aid to an overall victorious battle.

In conclusion, defeating a Lynel is tough, but with the right strategy, weapons, and armor, you can become victorious. Studying the enemy, being strategic, and utilizing the environment will increase your chances of beating a Lynel. Don’t forget, Lynels are known to drop rare and precious materials so come equipped and prepared for the fight ahead.
